During the business meeting, Mrs. William Renninger reported on proceeds made at the Bnntzenhoff sale and another sale coming up on November 11. The Society was given a tour of Betty Siegnst’s greenhouse which was attached to her house. Twenty three members attended. President Gertrude Yeaglm presided at the meeting. Items and money were brought to the meeting for the Needlework Guild In- Gathering. Mrs. Mary Lauver, Lancaster, was the guest speaker. She spoke on the “Sourdough Parable” and passed out samples of bread and cakes made from sourdough. She shared “starter” sets to those in terested. The next meeting will be November 25, starting with a luncheon at “Lacy’s Restaurant”, Rt. 441 at 12:30 p.m. A tour of Donegal Mills Plantation will follow at 1:45 p.m. Lancaster Co, Society 24 Approximately 50 persons attended a Halloween Party at the home of Landis and Audrey Myer, New Holland R 2, at the October meeting of Lancaster County Farm Women Society 24. Games were played, commencing with a spook walk, “Scream in the Dark” designed by the host and his sons. A short business meeting followed with President Ruth Hoober presiding. Ruth Shultz reported on Homemakers Day and plans were made to attend the Town Fair. The next meeting will be held November 29 at the home of Eunice Mehle. Mrs. Pauline Rishel hosted the meeting. The Society will give Christmas gifts to the mentally retarded at Harrisburg State Hospital. They also contributed to the York Rescue Mission. A box was donated by the Kathryn Kurtz family. It will be used to preserve the history of the society. A safety program was presented. The next meeting will be a Christmas party on Dec meber 2 at the Grandview Golf Club. York Co, Society 16 Dons McCallister was initiated as a new member at the October meeting of York County Farm Women Society 16 hosted by Jean Hershey, Dover. Each of the 18 members wore Halloween hats. Election of officers were held. Kara Ohrum was elected president; Diane Moyer, vice-president; Lura Flohr, secretary; Alice Rauch, treasurer; Loreleta Baustian, historian; and Janet Kron, reporter. York Co, Society 29 A program on dolls was presented to York County Farm Women Society 29 by Betty Jordon and Theda Eaton at their October meeting hosted by Betty Jordon. Bobbie Jean Zimmerman, Red Lion Rl, had the win ning ticket for an afghan drawing at the meeting. Ten members attended the County convention. The next meeting will be November 14 at the home of Doris Vannoy. The program will feature favors for Christmas.
