Patricia Salfner wins ladies lead

HARRISBURG - Patricia
Salfner, a 19 year old from
Rossville, Md., led her
Montadale ewe, Becky, on to
victory as she won the
Ladies Lead class at the
Keystone International
Livestock Exposition,
Harrisburg, on November 4.
Patti wore a multi-colored
wool, plaid skirt with six
front inside tucks. Her white
bow blouse had front and
back tucks, a one piece yolk,
front covered button closmg
and full length sleeves
gathered m covered button
cuffs. The outfit was ac
cented with a matching wool
shawl with black fringe,
black boots and a hand-made
stickpin. Becky, her ewe,
wore a matching wool shawl.
Patti made her own
costume.
Patti is a sophmore at
Essex Community College.
She has been a member of 4-
H for five years She is
Maryland’s 1978 delegate to
the National 4-H Club
Congress, Chicago, 111., in
the sheep project area. Patti
was the recipient of the 1978
Key Club award. Her 4-H
projects include sheep, auto
safety, forestry, public
speaking, flowers and
clothing.
Huthann E. Casman,
Harrisburg Rl, was the
second place winner in the
Ladies Lead class. She wore
a three piece wool plaid suit
and a white cowl neck
blouse. Ruthann’s Dorset
ewe wore a oink wool halter

International Livestock Exposition, Harrisburg, on November 4. Patricia wore a
multicolored plaid skirt and shawl. Her Montadale ewe, Becky, wore a matching
shawl. Presenting the award is William Hess, Barbcursville, Va., president of the
American Sheep Producers Council.
