Randy Ranck chosen for American Farmer Degree
QUARRYVILLE - Randy
Ranck has been nominated
to receive the American
Farmer Degree, which is the
highest degree to be
presented by the National
FFA Association. The
nomination was approved at
a recent meeting of the
National FFA Board of
Directors in Alexandria, Va.
One of the over 800
members of FFA to be
nominated for the American
Farmer Degree, Ranck will
travel to Kansas City, Mo. to
receive the degree in a
special ceremony that will
be held on November 9,
pending a fmal vote of ap
proval of the 122 student
delegates representing over
half a million FFA mem
bers.

approximately one member
in 700 of the over .500,000
member organization. It is
only presented by the
National FFA Organization
to members who have
demonstrated exceptional
agricultural and leadership
achievements.
Randall L. Ranck,
Quarryville, is the son of
Lester and Mary Ranck and
a member of the Solanco
FFA Chapter.
Randy has been an active
member of the FFA for six
years serving in 1976-77 as
the state president of the
Pennsylvania Association.

Prior to that he served as
treasurer of Lancaster
County and chapter vice
president and secretary.
He participated in many
activities connected with his
supervised occupational
experience program in
agriculture production. This
included raising and
showing beef cattle, hogs,
and various field crops.
Randy was involved in the 7
Solanco chapter’s
speaking, parliamentary
procedure, land, and
livestock judging teams.
As a student he par
ticipated in Farmer
Cooperative educational
institutes which lead him to
Texas A and M University
for the American Institute of
givmg a total capacity of 500
bushels of gram. The unit
can be unloaded from either
the side or the center.
According to the
manufacturer, little field
assembly is necessary as the
unit sets on its own base,
requiring no additional
blocking except to level on
soft ground conditions. An
optional roof is available for
use in inclement weather.
