Forney wins tractor driving Clyde Forney of the Cedar Crest FFA won the area tractor driving contest held October 12 at Blue Mountain High School. Clyde was competing against FFA members from Berks, Lebanon and Schuykill Counties. His first place finish entitles him to represent Cedar Crest in the State Tractor Driving Contest at Penn State next June. ' Chester Co. WEST CHESTER - The Chester County 4-H Clubs are holding their 4-H Fall Fair October 21 and 22 at the Downingtown Farmer’s Market on Rt. 30. About twenty clubs have exhibits on display for the general public to view. The main objective of the Fair is to promote the Chester County 4-H program and “to let people know what 4-H is all about” said Jan Renner of the Chester County Ex tension service. Exhibits feature dog obedience and grooming, butter making, cow milking, and heifer clipping. Also, sewing, silk screening, craft demonstrations and a rabbit demonstration. Many different animals are there for children to pet. There are over 1300 4-Hers in Chester County. A 4-H information booth is also-set up at the Fair. KIMBERTON Agricultural committee chairman Charles Harris explained two bills to the Chester-Delaware Pomona Grange 3 members at their quarterly meeting, October 14 at the Kimberton Grange hall. One of the bills was a state sponsored Agricultural Districts Bill which would keep agriculture land in fanning and limit the power of eminent domain. The other was for federal legislation that would require a full disclosure of ownership of U.S. farm land. This Farm Investment Disclosure Bill has already been passed by the House. Elaine Cook reviewed the required food handlers certification program. Chester County requires Grange meet organizations and food businesses to have at least one member or employee complete a food handling course by December 31. Cook served as the Grange representative on the County Board of Health and is now the representative-at-large. Sally Pyle will serve as the new delegate to the Board. William Buffington, lec turer, awarded 36 prizes to art and photography win ners. Lois Steele, junior committee chairman, presented 21 awards in art, photography, and craft to the Junior Grange members. Harry Davis, Oxford Grange, was installed as Master of Pomona 3 along with a new slate of officers. Eight candidates were conferred to the Degree of Pomona. New members wanted FLEMINGTON, N.
