closest rival. She exhibited
the best 3-year old, best aged
cow, and best uddered cow.
Mike Smith of Holtwood
had the top intermediate
calf; Fred Smith, Holtwood,
had the best senior calf. All
other first-place ribbons
were awarded to Ken Fin
dley.
Steve Hershey of Manheim
had the grand champion in
the only other breed that was
shown at the Manheim Fair:
Brown Swiss. His winning
cow also stood as the first
place 4-year old. Kerry Boyd
of Ephrata exhibited the
reserve grand champion
after having won first places
with eight of his entries. The
only other exhibitor to win a
first place was David Kulp of
Manheim who had the best
junior calf.
