Mrs. George Manbeck,
Womelsdorf, hosted the
September meeting of Berks
Co. Farm Women Society 5.
Nineteen members were
present.
The group made 149 candy
favors for the Hamburg
State School as their
program for the evening. A
ham on roll sale will be held
October 21. Anyone wishing
to purchase sandwiches
should contact Society 5 by
October 14.

Women 6 held their meeting
September 26 at the home of
Mrs. Merrill Hetrick, Oley.
The ladies spent time
together making and sewing
cancer pads for Berks Heim
after the meeting.
Plans were made to attend
the Society of Farm Women
County Convention at the Ag
Center on October 7 starting
with registration at 9:30 a.m.
The ladies were encouraged
to bring items for the
bazaar. Mrs. Roger Wagner
will be the song leader,
Mrs. David Hauseman and
Mrs. Randolph Hettrick will
be usheretts and Mrs.
Merrill Hettrick will help at
the bazaar table.
The ladies will be serving
at the refreshment stand for
sales on October 21, 28, and
November 11 at die Oley
Fairgrounds.

president and vice-president
of the Lancaster County
Farm Women Society 4 for
the new year. The women
met at the home of Mrs. E.
Robert Nolt, Lancaster, on
September 23.
Dessert was served as the
members and guests
arrived. There were 28
members and two guests
present.
