Keep your place clean and get rid of unnecessary fire feeders. Keep your furnace, fireplace and chimneys clean and maintained. Make sure portable heaters are used away from combustibles and placed so they can’t tip. Store flammable liquids in sturdy metal containers. Use them with extreme care. Teach children to respect fires and to not play with matches. 'Watch smoking and matches. Don’t overload electrical circuits. Add new ones if needed. Protect your family with a sensitive fire alarm system. Systems might also be installed in barns. Protect your home, shop, buildings, and equipment with proper fire extinguishers. Make sure everyone knows where they are and how to use them.
