Hampshire cross was a full brother to his champion of the previous year. Joe, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Crisafulli has been showing in 4-H for five years. He shows steers and horses besides his prize winning sheep and hopes to study animal science after graduating from high school. Presently he is in the eleventh grade at Schuylkill Valley High School. Joe was also named the senior champion showman of this same event. Showing the reserve grand champion was 15-year old David Ernst, Sinking Spring. David, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ernst lead a light-heavyweight Suffolk. He has been showing sheep -for six years. Paying $l.OO per pound for the grand champion and $1.20 for the reserve champion was Rodney Muthard of Muthard’s Meats, Temple. A total of 28 lambs were sold by the participating 4-H’ers averagmg $.79 per pound. The total lamb weight was 2720 pounds making the total sales for the event $2,166.40.
