He was selected as Lebanon County’s Out standing 4-H Boy and won county 4-H awards in leadership and entomology. Commenting on the values of the educational youth program, Bruce said; “4-H has taught me how to work with others. It has also given me confidence when speaking to groups." Rachel Ballinger, Society 1; Betty Saylor, Society 19; and Jean Zurine, Society 5, were hostesses. Final plans were made for the sixty-first annual con vention to be held November 4 at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. Bev Richards, featured in “The Feminine Torch” a daily radio program from Philadelphia, wfll be the guest speaker. Special music will be provided by Mary Atzinger on the cordovax. A bazaar table will feature baked goods, plants, craft items etc. Members of the Farm Women will present cooking, baking, and candy making at the Towne Fair on October 31-November 1. They will also have a display table at the Homemakers Day, October 23-24. We Sell, Service & Install Mary Alice Gregory, district chairlady of the national “Make It Yourself With Wool Contest” an nounced the contest will be held on October 28 at the Farm and Home Center. Garments will be entered in three classes, Pre-teens, 10- 13 years; -Juniors 14-16 years; and seniors, 17-24 years. Clothing may be made of 100 per cent wool or a large percentage of wool. Judging will be based on construction!, design, ap pearance, fabric selection and accessories. First prize will be an overnight trip to State College for state competition, November 17- 18. Lancaster County Farm Women Society will sponsor this event. The annual spring rally will be held at die home of Janet Leaman, treasurer, Cherry Hill Road, Ronks R 2.
