Jill and Karen will receive expense-paid trips to National 4-H Congress in Chicago, November 26-30, and compete for awards at the national level. Judy will be eligible to attend the national club congress and compete for awards at the national level. Support of the dairy foods project is provided by the Carnation Company and safety, the General Motors Foundation. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde W. Barrick, Jill is a senior at the Big Spring Senior High School. She has been a 4-H member for nine years. A member of the Cen terville 4-H Club, she served as president, secretary, treasurer, vice president, and news reporter. She also assisted with club activities and events as a teen leader. The state contest winner completed projects in dairy, foods, clothing, photography, flower gar dening, teen leadership, health, citizenship, and crafts. Locally, she took part in the 4-H awards banquet, officers training, exchange program, leader’s banquet, teen council, picnic, and roundup. She is listed in “Who’s Who Among American High School Students.” Commenting on the values of the educational youth program, Jill said: “4-H has helped me to become a better citizen and how to get along with and understand younger members.” The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Hombaker, Karen is a senior at the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She has been a 4-H member for eight years. A member of three Cumberland County 4-H Clubs, she served as president, secretary, news reporter, and social chairman. She also served as a teen leader.
