    Darlene Huyard, Lancaster, exibited the grand champion steer of the show at
Ephrata Fair 4-H and FFA steer show, September 28. She also won the grand
champion fitter award, and placed first in her showmanship class.

entry, “Casey”, was a classy
1080 pound Maine-Anjou,
Angus, Chianpia cross steer.
Bolz described the steer as
“carrying a lot of muscling
through his upper, middle
and lower quarter” a steer
that was “ideal in his
finish.”
Jay, a fifth grader at Lititz
Area Mennomte School, was
surprised at the placing. “I
only thought I would get
third place” he said.
Jay, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ivan Reiff also won his
showmanship class. He has
been a member of Red Rose
Baby Beef and Sheep 4-H
Club for three years.
