UNIVERSITY PARK -
Sharon Jones, 19, Tioga R 2,
has compiled an outstanding
record in 4rH work, and was
recently named state
achievement winner in the
1978 4-H National Awards
Program.
Sharon will receive an
expense-paid trip to National
4-H Congress in Chicago,
November 26 to 30, and
compete for awards at the
national level.
Support of the
achievement project is
provided by the Ford Motor
Company Fund.
She is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Raymond D. Jones,
and a sophomore at Man
sfield State College,
majoring in home economics
education. She has been a 4-
H member for 11 years.

Conestoga
LANCASTER - A 15-mile
hiking trail that runs along
Pequea Creek and the
Susquehanna River has been
completed.
Constructed by the Lan
caster Hiking Club, the
Conestoga Trail runs along
the rim of the River Hills
overlooking the Lake Aldred
Gorge in the Susquehanna
River.
Beginning at Martic Forge
on Route 324 near Pequea,
the trail ends at Lock 12
historic area on the York
County side of Lake Aldred.
The trail is mostly on land
owned by Pennsylvania
Power & Light Co.

Colemanville covered

Among the highlights of
the Conestoga Trail are a
house-size rock, a cleft in the
rocks and stands of hemlock,
rhododendron and tulip
poplar. The trail passes
"through Pequea Creek
campground, Pinnacle
Overlook, Holtwood ballfield
and Face Rock Overlook, all
PP&L recreation areas at
Lake Aldred.
The trail, marked by
orange blazes, is open to the
public. Trail maps are

the lake superintendent’s
