Lisa is the 17-year-old*
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
James W. Miller, dairy
farmers from Armstrong
Drive, Washington. The
current Washington County
Dairy Princess, Lisa won
her crown as the highlight of

the sale was Woodbine Astro
Molly-OC, a 5-month old calf
sired by Paclamar

which is classified Ex
cellent-91 and produced

cooperative in Towanda, Pa.
Eastern’s site selection
committee, which had been
studying several locations
over the past few months,
decided on the Pennsylvania
location because of
availability of needed milk
supplies. Cortland, N.Y. was
heavyweight class, where it
was taken to the top of the
placings. Then it was named
4-H champion, and finally
competing against the best
of the FFA steers, it was
declared best of the show.
Hess, 19, is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Gerald and Martha
Hess, Lancaster R 2. He
showed a Chianina Angus
beef breeder from Perry
County, described Darlene’s
winning Angus as being the
most complete steer of,.the
show. “A steer that has a lot
of potential” he said “just as
smooth as you’d ever want
him to be.”
Darlene, daughter of
Naomi and Mel Huyard,
Lancaster, was also selected

School, Lisa serves as the
senior class treasurer, and is
a member of the school’s

that was shown by FFA’er
James Frey, Willow Street.
This was Frey’s first year

Darlenes fifth year showing
a 4-H project. She keeps her
steers at a friends farm and
goes “over every night to
feed and work on them” she
said.

Lisa Miller is the new Pennsylvania Dairy Princess. She was
selected Wednesday evening during the recognition banquet of the
Pennsylvania All-American Dairy Show. She is the former Washington
County Dairy Princess.

for Atlantic Breeders
Cooperative at Lancaster,
Pa., effective October 1, by
general manager David
Yoder. Bair’s duties include
the full coordination of
educational programs and
functions involving Atlan
tic’s member services and
the agricultural and
livestock breeding in
dustries.

Bair has served seven years
ns county agricultural agent
for dairy with the
Cooperative Extension
Service in Lancaster County,
one of the major dairy
counties in the nation. He
was responsible for con
ducting educational dairy
programs, the county’s
dairy herd improvement
program, and coached
several winning state 4-H
dairy judging teams - in
cluding the 1978 team.
