A registered Holstein cow owned by Sunny Craft Farm,
Ephrata, completed the highest 305 day lactation. Terri
produced 23,581 pounds of milk, 1071 pounds of butterfat
with a 4.5 per cent test. Second high lactation was com
pleted by a registered Holstein cow owned by John M.
Harnish, 1036 Beaver Valley Pike, Lancaster. Treva
produced 24,585 pounds of milk, 1028 pounds of butterfat
with a 4.2 per cent test in 305 days.
The herds of Paul H. Martin, Ephrata and Ru Be Mar
Farms, Ephrata, had the highek daily butterfat average.
The Paul H. Martin herd with 38.2 registered Holstein
cows averaged 57.6 pounds of milk, 2.08 pounds of but
terfat with a 3.6 per cent test The Ru Be Mar Farms herd
of 26.3 registered Holstein cows averaged 58.0 pounds of
milk, 2.08 pounds of butterfat with a 3.6 per cent test. The
herds of Benuel S. Stoltzfus, Morgantown and Russel L.
Kline, Denver, placed second. The Stoltzfus herd of 47.3
registered and grade Holstein cows averaged 54.8 pounds
of milk, 1.98 pounds of butterfat with a 3.6 per cent test.
The Kline herd of 30.0 registered and grade Holstein cows
averaged 54.8 pounds of milk, 1.98 pounds of butterfat with
a 3.6 per cent test.
