and top-quality con
signments combined to give
the Pennsylvania State
Jersey Sale its highest all
time average. Sponsored by
the Pennsylvania Jersey
Cattle Club, the sale was
held on September 16 at the
Guernsey Pavilion near
Lancaster. The thirty-four
registered animals sold for
an average of $1091.91, with
sixteen animals topping the
$lOOO mark. The cattle sold
into Virginia, Maryland,
Connecticut, Ohio, and
Delaware, as well as Penn
sylvania.
Top cow in the sale at $1825
was a - fresh 3-yr-old,
Wilderness Tillyson Dusty,
consigned fay Dr. and Mrs.
Robert Dreisbach of
Hamburg, and purchased by
Paul and Charlotte Trimble
of Peach Bottom. Second
high at $lBOO was a 4-yr-old
Quicksilver cow consigned

and Charlotte Trimble who
purchased four animals for
$5450.
Also sold were five heifer
calves in the Second Penn
sylvania Pot of Gold Sale.

only to junior buyers, will
return money to their pur
chasers based on their two
year-old milking records.

consigned by Eugene and
Brian Harris of Milan and
purchased by Brian Watson
of Columbia Cross Roads.
Several lots of semen were
sold, including 10 ampules of
Marlu Milestone for $ll5 per
ampule to Roy Watson. The
semen was consigned by
Walebe Farms of
Collegeville.
In a ceremony proceeding
the sale, Roy Watson of
Smokey Hill Farm received
a plaque as purchaser of
Rolling Acres Jokers
Camille, the cow sold in the
1977 PJCC Sale which made
the best record in the year
following the sale. Robert
Eick, also from Bradford
County, received a similar
plaque as consigner of the
cow. “Camille’s” record was
