132 —Lancaster Farming, Saturday, September 23,1978 Archery HARRISBURG - Penn sylvania’s 1978-79 hunting seasons for big game will get underway when archers begin hunting whitetail deer one-half hour before sunrise on Saturday, September 30. Just about one-fourth of all of the nation’s archery hunters purchase licenses in Pennsylvania. Last year, there were a record 233,229 archery licenses sold in the HARRISBURG - Five rabies cases were diagnosed positive in Pennsylvania during August, and one case involved human exposure to the disease, Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Kent Shelhamer said recently. The Secretary said a woman was bitten by a bat in Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, and is now un dergoing rabies treatment. The other rabies cases in August all involved bats, one each in Bucks and Lancaster Counties and two in Nor thumberland County. One rabies case was reported in July in Lehigh County.
