York Fair names top
YORK Michelle and Brian Banker! of Hanover,
Shelly Banker! of Red Lion, John Mummer! of Seven
Valleys, Gus Parle!! of Airville, and Sieve Trostle of Red
Lion all had champion entries in !he York* Fair’s 4-H
breeding swine show. Following are resulls by breed:
Yorkshire champion Shelly Banker!, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Preston Banker!, Red Lion, narrowly edged Ron
Wilson of New Freedom who had !he reserve champion.
Miss Bankert’s entry was a senior sow, while Wilson
entered the ring with a March gilt.
Steve Trestle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Trostle, Red
Lion, was owner of the top two entries among Spotted
Swine. His champion was a January gilt while the reserve
animal was a senior sow.

4-H swine exhibitors
In Poland China competition, Gus Parlett of Airville
exhibited both the champion and reserve champion, a
February gilt and senior sow, respectively. Gus is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. James Parlett.
Shelly Bankert took all the honors in the Yorkshire
class, winning the top spot with her January gilt and the
runner-up position with a Februarj gilt.
John and Harold Mununert, sons of Barbara Mummert,
Seven Valleys, shared the tr title o ‘ Landrr :lar

- John’s February gilt was champion while -Harold won
reserve honors with his Aprilgilt.
Brian Bankert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Bankert,
Hanover, edged his sister Michelle’s entry for the top spot
in Duroc competition. He exhibited a January gilt while
his sister took a senior sow into the ring. The two young
exhibitors dominated the breed show, which had 18 en
tries.
Michelle Bankert got a champion of her own when the
Chester Whites were brought into the ring for judging. Her
winner was a March gilt. Gus Parlett came in second with
an April gilt. The only other contestant to gain a first
place in the class was Melissa Trostle of Red Lion. She
had the top senior sow of the breed.
