Stiiesrite Jerseys sweep York Fair Jersey show YORK Stiiesrite Jersey Farms of Littiestown, owned by J. Howard' Stiles and family, entered the York Fair Jersey Show for the first time this year and came away with first-place honors in every class. The family, which operates a 147 acre dairy farm on the Maryland line, dominated the show completely. Their closest contenders to the top honors were Mike and Joey Welsh of East Berlin and Suzy Queitsch of New Freedom. The Stiles own 65 milking Jersey cows and have been exhibiting their cattle each week since early August. A year ago they had the supreme, champion cow (ch?ir.pion over all breeds) at the Maryland State Fair in Tunonium. In addition, the family has shown at the All- American in Harrisburg. Although the J. Howard Stiles family wasn’t par ticipating in the York Fair in 1977, the elder Stiles’ brother, Clifford, was, and he won all the honors. The Stiles’ grand cham pion here is the first they have had in 1978, said John Stiles, who was taking care of the grand , champion owned by his sister, Becky. Suzy Queitsch, one of just three exhibitors to crack the stronghold held by the Stiles, exhibited two third-place animals. They were a senior calf and a junior yearling Mike Welsh had a second and third place 2-year old as well as a third place Best Udder entry.
