Solanco encourages youth contests
QUARRYVILLE - To
encourage youth par
ticipation in the Solanco
Fair, special prizes have
been provided for youth
contests. They will be
awarded to individuals
having the highest score in
the Rural Youth Contest.
The high individual will have
a choice of awards and will
continue in succession until
all of the prizes have been
awarded. The prizes are as
follows:
A cash award to be used
towards the purchase of a
feeder steer.
Carefully groomed cattle rest in the comfortable facilities at the Solanco Fair,
Lancaster County's largest. The area prides itself on having a strictly
agricultural exhibition.
A purebred Holstein heifer
calf donated by Mr. and Mrs.
Janies L. Kreider.
A trip to the National FFA
Convention, sponsored by
Chink Hassler.
Two feeder pigs donated
by the Solanco FFA.
A cedar chest.
A portable Singer sewing
machine or Craftsman
toolbox and tools.
An AM-FM portable radio
or digital clock radio.
A Channelmaster portable
tape cassette player.

boy or girl who has not yet
reached his or her 19th
birthday and who is living in
the Solanco School District,
unless otherwise approved
by the Rural Youth Contest
chairman. The rules and
regulations listed in the
