Omaha Cattle August 30,1978 Cattle - Compared with the previous week’s close - closing prices on slaughter steers were 5075 cents higher, instances 1.00 higher. Heifer prices ranged frim to 50 cents higher. Cows were 1.001.50 lower and bulls 501.00 lower. Four Day Recipts 15,400 as compared 13,500 previous week and 14,800 a year ago. The fed cattle trade followed a fairly stable course even though most buying interests came into the period with larger live mventones on hand than the previous week. Day-to-day price changes were slightly larger than the previous week and were fairly well distributed over the trading period. The overall finish of the steer and heifer supply was rather attractive with a fiarly liberal percentage Choice and a modest volume mixed Choice and Prime. Slaughter Steers made up ap proximately 42 per cent and heifers 38 per cent cows comprised 10 per cent and feeder 6 per cent.
