Melvin E. Leppo, Sykesville,
an M.C.M.P. director of
District 3, Maryland
Cooperative Milk Producers,
Inc., has been appointed
member-at-large to the
Maryland Agricultural
Commission.
Blair Lee HI, acting
governor of Maryland,
announced the appointed in
an executive order.
Although Leppo is an
active dairyman, he will be
an at-large member
representing all of
agriculture.
Presently, the Leppo farm
operation includes 295 acres
which the family owns and
another 135 which they rent.
They milk 135 Holstein cows
• with a herd average of 15,000
pounds of milk and 561
pounds of fat. Their major
crops are com, alfalfa, and
barley which are used as
feed for 285 animals on the--
feed for 285 animals on the
farm. Leppo employs his son
his farm operation.

months mid under. Kristen
Waechter of Whitehouse
Station and her dog Willow
won for Class B which in

quality milk production. Two
of these times were for
excellence, the highest level
of achievement.
