AUSTIN, Minn. - W. F.
Ruoss, Ephrata, and
Franklin Feeser,
Taneytown, Md., are two of
the exhibitors who delivered
hogs in the 1978 Production
Tested Barrow Contest.
Their barrows have been
consigned to the St. Ansgar
Test Station which is located
some 15 miles south of
Auston, Minnesota.
Barrows which complete
the test will be slaughtered
and appraised in a
production-related Carcass
Contest at Geo. A. Hormel &
Company’s Austin, Minn.,
plant.
Exhibitors from 25 states
delivered barrows to the St.
Ansgar (Iowa) Test Station
and were entered in the
Production Tested Barrow
Contest of the National
Barrow Show. This year’s
event will once again be held
at the Mower County
Fairgrounds in Austin,
Minn. The dates are Sep
tember 11,12, and 13.
Seven hundred and fifty
seven barrows met the
weight and age
requirements and were put
on official test - an increase
over the 700 barrows that
had originally been an
ticipated by John Phillips,
superintendent of the
National Barrow Show.
