KUTZTOWN - A market
lamb shown by Gad Snyder,
New Tripoli, in the
heavyweight class captured
the grand championship
placing at the Tuesday sheep
show at the Lutztown Fair.
The lamb which weighed 110
pounds was from a western
ewe and a Dorset ram.
It was a good day for Miss
Snyder who not only won
that honor but was also
named the grand champion
fitter at the show and the
reserve grand champion
showman.
Marlyn Stroh, 11,
BreinigsviUe R 2, also a
member of the Lehigh
County 4-H sheep and lamb
club, showed the reserve
champion market lamb. His
entry was a Hampshire
which weighed 104 pounds.
Marlyn also placed first in
ghe junior division of the
fitting contest, second m the
junior showmanship contest,
and the champion Hamp
shire ewe at the fair.
Two sisters, Melissa and
Sarah Fretz, ZionsviUe Rl,
captured first place in their
respective sheep blocking
Marlyn Stroh, Jr. showed the reserve champion
market lamb. The lamb was of the Hampshire
breed and weighed 104 pounds.

Charles Hopkins, Oley Rl.
The Shropshire champion
ewe was shown by Keith
Breininger, New Tripoli R 2,
showing a yearling. The son
of Donald Breininger, he too
is a member of the Lehigh
County sheep club. Dwayne
Reinert, Slatington R 2,
showed the reserve cham
pion ewe, from the lamb
class.
The Angelo Baroni family
of Downingtown captured
the Dorset championships
with Ann Baroni winning the
championship with, her
yearling ewe and her brother

champion Suffolk ewe and

LANDISVILLE - The
Landisville Lions Club is
sponsoring a deept-pit ox
roast on Saturday, Sep
tember 9th from Tp.m. to 7
p.m. at the Salunga
Fire Company pavilion.
A full dinner including ox
roast beef sandwich,
roasting ears, baked
potatoes, applesauce, and
beverage will be available
either as take-out or for
dining at tables in the
pavilhon. It is situated along
route 230 in Salunga with
plenty of free parking.
Tickets are priced at $3.50
and are available from Lions
Club members or at the gate.
