Beef Cook-off winner chosen UNIVERSITY PARK - Miss Gloria Bove, Bethlehem, was named winner of the third annual Pennsylvania Beef Cook-Off held recently at Penn State’s main campus. Miss Bove, who has en joyed cooking and baking since she was a young girl, will represent Pennsylvania in the National Beef Cook- Off to be held this fall in Oklahoma. The winning entry was “Beef Pizza Extrodinaire.” Other contestants in the cook-off included Mrs. Judith Reynolds, of Edin boro, first runner-up; Mr. Emeros Jenkins, of John stown, second runner-up; Mrs. Norma Broderick, of Waterford; and Mrs. Helen Wilson, of Aliquippa. According to Dr. Lowell L. Wilson, Penn State professor of animal science, the en tries were judged on taste, appearance, originality, ease of preparation, and practicality. The event featured beef recipes during Pennsylvania Beef Week, June 18-24, and was aimed at helping the. public understand the various cuts of beef and their proper preparation.
