Cumberland County
Cumberland County Dairy Herd Improvement records
show that 6325 cows in 113 herds were on production
testing in April according to Duane 6. Duncan, county
agent Of the 92 herds on DHIA, 60 herds had an average
fat production of 150 pounds per cow per day for the
month. During the month 84 cows completed their 305 day
lactation with 600 pounds of butterfat. DHIA supervisors
working with the dairymen to improve efficiency include
Mr. Harold Boldosser, 130 Old Gap Road, Carlisle; Mrs.
Diane M. Cain, Newvflle R 3; Jay Zeigler, Carlisle R 1; and
Scot Foreman, Mechanicsburg Rl.
