After trying for three years,
Judy Reynolds, a full-time
studenLand housewife from
Edinboro, will represent
Pennsylvania in the National
Chicken Cooking Contest
which will be held later this
year in Florida. Judy won
the honor on May 20 after
competing with seven other
contestants in the Penn
sylvania Chicken “Cook Off”
contest held at Northern
Lebanon High School,
Fredericksburg.
The contest is sponsored
annually by the Penn

sylvania Poultry Federation
which awards an all expense
paid trip to .the national
contest and an additional 50
dollar cash prize to the first
place entrant. Contestants in
the competition were
selected by judges for the
National Broiler Council as
the best 10 recipes entered
from Pennsylvania.
The recipes were judged
for simplicity, interest,
appearance, cost, and
flavor, explained John
Hoffman, executive director
of the Pennsylvania Poultry
Federation. The council does

an active mother of two
children, Amy, 10, and Mike
9, and is also a student at
Edinboro State College
studying physical education.
Judy enjoys entering
cooking contests because she
“likes to meet other people
and enjoys cooking,” she
said. Her winning recipe was
“Cream Puff Topped
Chicken Pie.” The recipe

CHICKEN PIE
2 whole broiler-fryer chicken
breasts, halved, boned,
skinned, cut in 1-inch
chunks
1 teaspoon salt
teaspoon white pepper
