the 15th Annual World
Livestock Auctioneer
Championship.
The world champion will
be named -following com
petition at the Four Square
Livestock Market. Marshall
is about 60 miles east of
Kansas City.
“This year’s location in
the heart of America should
produce a record number of
championship entrants,”
said Gerald D. Nevins,
contest coordinator. Last
year’s 53 entrants set the
current record.
The championship is
sponsored annually by
Livestock Marketing
Association, Kansas City,
Mo., and conducted by
Livestock Market Digest,
Inc., to focus attention on the
professional role of the
auctioneer in livestock
marketing.
Last year’s winner was
Bobby Russell, Canton,
Miss., who won the title in
Calgary, Alberta. He heads
the advisory committee of 14

this year’s competition.
A reserve world champion
and a runner-up world
champion will also be
selected, along with
champions, reserve
champions and runner-up
champions from the east,
central and western regions
of North America.
Trophies and merchandise
prizes will be awarded to the
winners.
The auctioneers are
judged by a panel of
livestock market owners and
managers on the criteria
they look for when hiring an
auctioneer. The judges’
votes are counted by an
official of the National
Auctioneer’s Association, a
livestock news media
representative and a cer
tified public accountant.

FLEM3NGTON, N.J. -
The annual search is on for a
young lady to represent
Hunterdon County, N.J. as
dairy princess, according to
Mrs. Marie Schwab,
Ringoes, chairman for the
planning committee. Each
year the contest is held m
June.
The new princess will
reign for a year. She will
make numerous ap
pearances in promoting milk
and dairy products in malls,
shopping centers and
schools. She will be asked to
speak to service clubs and
other community
organizations, as well as
attend many public func
tions.
As spokeswoman for the
dairy interests in the county,
she must exhibit a warm
congenial personality, be
out-going and enthusiastic in

State Dairy Princess Contest
scheduled during Flemmton
Fair Week.
