primary. It’s the first time
since 1964 that she went out
of her way to promote a can
didate for political office.
The last beneficiary of her
efforts was Barry
Goldwater, Republican
senator from Arizona who
ran for president against
Lyndon Johnson 14 years
ago.
Aamodt, a Chester County
fanner and engineer who is
challenging incumbent Con
gressman Robert Walker in
the Republican primary on
Tuesday, had Miss Swanson
