Farm Women Societies Berks Co, Society 8 On April 25, 1968, the first meeting of Berks County Farm Women Society 8 was held. Door prizes were given out, and Shirley Breininger played selections on her accordian. Because the tenth anniversary is tin, the group recieved an old fashioned measuring cup filled with dried flowers, cookie cutters, plants in tin buckets, and slippers. After the gifts were received, the group thanked their guests with refresh ments. A salad bar was available with every ingredient available for a perfect salad. Each guest was presented with a com cob gingham refrigerator magnet. M Lancaster Co, Society 5 Twenty-seven members and two guests attended the meeting of Lancaster County Farm Women Society 5. The group met at the home of Mrs. Martin Thomas, Landisville. During the business meeting, it was announced that the Welsh Mountain Medical Center would be the project for the year. Her topic was pressed flowers. The next meeting will be held May 20 at the home of Mrs. Paul Neff, East Petersburg. Mrs. Clyde Weaver will be the hostess. Lancaster Co, Society 11 The Lancaster County Farm Women Society 11 met April 27 at the Mechanic Grove Brethren Church. They entertained Society 31 with a buffet luncheon. The program included a piano duet by Miss Mary Swarr and Miss Helen Snyder. Miss Anna Swarr talked of her experiences in the mission field in China and Singapore. A report was given on the sewing day held in April. May 17 will be the annual sewing day at the Lancaster General Hospital. Lancaster Co, Society 28 Lancaster County Farm Women Society 28 met at the home*of Mrs. Harry Landis on April 27. Co-Hostess was Mrs. Harold Byers. The group is in charge of the needlework. A day trip is planned for May 24, to Peddlers Village. Everyone is to meet at the home of Mrs. Roy Book at 8:30 a.m. The program was a delightful talk by Lancaster County Dairy Princess Twila Brubaker. She encouraged everyone to drink milk and use dairy products. Lebanon Co, Society 14 The monthly meeting of Lebanon County Farm Women Society 14 was held at the United Church of Christ, Campbelltown, with Society 6 and 9 entertained. After the opening devotions, Mrs. Roy Alger introduced Dr. J. Edward Dazen who showed slides of Kenya, Africa, where he had spent several months working in a hospital. He also showed a display of items made by natives. The next meeting will be held on May 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Martin Gingrich, Palmyra R 2. York Co Society 16 The April meeting of York County Farm Women Society 16 was held at the home of Charlotte Joseph, * A I m m k I A s Dover. Nineteen members and two guests attended. It was announced that $lOO was donated to the Kidney Fund and $lO given to the scholarship fund of York Co. A new camera was pur chased for the historian, Jean Hershey. Eleven members will attend the Spring Rally at Hershey. Society 16 will be en tertained by Society 29 on June 14, at 7 p.m. The next meeting will be at the home of Phyllis Harlacher, Dover. York Co, Society 25 Hilda Arendt hosted York County Farm Women Socie ty 35 in her home on April 13. Members were informed that Society 5 will be enter taining them in June.
