LESSPORT - Five Berks
County schools participated
in the Berks County Public
Speaking contest held at the
Berks Agriculture Center,
Leesport.
Contestants were allowed
to choose their own subject
dealing with agriculture
character. Each speech had
to be typed and wasn’t to be
less than six minutes long or
exceed a maximum of eight
minutes.
The speeches were judged
on content, composition of
the report, general effect,
projection of voice, and
response to questions.
Judges were Chuck Suloff,
Production Credit; and
Roman Speahr, Soil Con
servation District Executive
Assitant.
Kutztown High School
captured first and second
place in the general
category. First was May
