—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, May 6,1978 102 Inheritance tax seen as severe threat COATESVILLE - Norman Aamodt, congressional candidate for the 16th District, would like to do something about the problems of open land, immorality and inflation. He believes he can handle these and other problems because of his wide experience in business, research, farming and teaching, he says. Aamodt says he would work to abolish inheritance taxes of moderate-sized estates, explaining that the tax presently causes break ups of family farms as the survivors often must sell to pay the tax. He points out that this can be as much as $150,000 on a 100 acre farm because of its current high evaluation. The law would also apply to homes and small businesses. Land-use legislation will 4-H club clinic held MANHEIM - A grooming and showmanship workshop was held this past week by the Saddle Cinches 4-H Horse and Pony Club, Manheim. Held at the stable near, Mastersonville, members were first shown the way to correctly wash and trim a horse, then they had a chance to practice the skills themselves.
