PA Phone (717) 274-1242 % SPECIAL Honors bestowed m EPHRATA - The Cloister FFA Chapter honored its best achievers a week ago at the 16th annual FFA banquet, held near here at the Mt. Airy Fire Hall. Well over 200 members, parents, and guests were on hand for the recognition dinner. Among the recognized members were Kerry Boyd, Gary Eberly, Jay Oberholtzer and Ron Zim merman, all of whom captured State Proficiency Awards. Boyd won with his soil and water conservation work, Eberly excelled in beef production, Oberholtzer in agricultural mechanics, and Zimmerman in swine production. A trio of young dairy judges - Sheryl Bollinger, Curtis Martin, and John Weiler - were called for ward to receive their honors for having placed second in the national FFA dairy cattle judging contest held in Kansas City, Mo. last November. They were coached by Lew Ayres, vo ag instructor- at Ephrata High School. A pair of milk products judges coached by Ernest Orr took the top two places in the national contest and statewide competition last Barry Herman, who gar year. They were Ron Good, nered a bronze. Orr teaches winner of a silver medal in vo-ag at the high school.
