The afternoon program
will begin with Dick
Hargraves, Penn National
Racetrack fair promoter,
speaking on the subject of
“Promoting Agriculture for
a Profit via Fairs. ”
Closing the day’s activities
will be Gail McPherson,
farmwife and winner of the
Agricultural Spokesman of
the Year award from
Chevron in 1977. Mrs. Mc-
Pherson’s topic will be
“Public Speaking.”
As time permits,* all
sessions will be followed by a
question and answer period.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -
Middle Atlantic Order
Market Administrator
Joseph D. Shine this week
announced a Class I milk
price of $11.78 per hun
dredweight for April 1978.
Shine said that the price is
up nine cents from March
and is 84 cents higher than
the April 1977 price. Order
No. 4 prices are announced
for milk testing 3.5 per cent
butterfat, -f.o.b. plants
located within 55 miles of
Philadelphia, Pa. and also
within 75 miles from the
nearer of Washington, DC or
BaltimoreTMD. There is also
a six cent direct-delivery
differential applicable to
producer milk received at
plants located within 55
miles of Philadelphia.
Shine announced a Class n
milk price of $9.04 per
hundredweight for February
1978 and a butterfat dif
ferential of 11.6 cents. The
Class II price is up eight
cents from the previous
month.
These class prices are
based on the February 1978
Minnesota-Wisconsin manu
facturing milk price of $9 per
hundredweight adjusted to a
3.5 per cent butterfat con
tent
The USDA reported that
the wholesale price of Grade
A butter at Chicago for
February was $1.0071 per
pound and the nonfat dry
milk price was $.68 per
pound f.o.b. plants in the
Chicago area.
