Grange Q HARRISBURG - Almost 3000 contestants from all parts of the state are ex pected to enter garments in sewing contest rules given the Pennsylvania State Grange’s 20th annual sewing contest which got underway February 1. The competition is open to Grange members, and non-members who are sponsored by Grangers, Mrs. Hoover added. The contest closes April 30 when , judging at the local, or subordinate Grange level begins. This will be followed by countywide and then state judging. State winners will then be judged in the National Grange com petition. The five classes in this year’s contest are: Class A, women’s gar ments - Any type garment made for a female 18 years of age or older for self or another person. Class B, boys, girls and teen garments - any type garment made by a con testant 10 to 17 years old for self or another person of the same age group. Class C, children’s clothes - any type garment made for someone else 10 years of age and under.
