To utilize the existing
tower silos, Landis employs
a weigh mixer wagon which
mixes the feed for the
various animals according
to production. Landis is
aiming for five-group
production.
The dairy bam has 250
stalls including the heifer
facility.

The milking parlor is a
fully automated double eight
herringbone operation with
16 units. Desgmed for ease of
operation and ease of cow for
general milking, the
operation includes
automatic detachers with
weigh out milk units.
The parlor is equipped
with automatic feed bowl
covers which push the cow’s
nose out into the isle to move
her through when she’s
finished milking. This is an
efficiency measure to speed
up cows per hour.
The system is also
equipped with a crowd gate
to keep the animals grouped
together to enter the parlor.
