    March recipe themes set
LITITZ - With the
beginning of February come
the new “Home on the
Range” recipe themes for
March. Continuing in the
pattern established for this
month, March will consist of
“cooking with” recipes such
as “cooking with soups,” the
first week’s theme. For this
particular week, we will be
featuring all actual soup
recipes and not those simply
utilizing soups such as were
printed this week.
Then, for the next week,
which has following it the
SOYBEAN ROASTING ON YOUR FARM
WHO SAYS SHAVERS DON'T PEAK LIKE
THEY USED TO?
It seems that rumors were spread around that
Shavers don’t peak well anymore. Well, to put your
mind at ease, take a good look at these recently
housed flocks. (Incidently, all were feather-sexed
as chicks).

The names of the owners of the above Shaver flocks are crossed
out, but are available on request.

Irish holiday St. Patrick’s
Day, we will publish recipes
using potatoes - the Irish
food staple.
For the advent of Sprmg
on the 20th of March, “Home
on the Range” for the third
week of the month will
consist of recipes utilizing
greens, since Sprmg is
usually associated with
greenery.
And, to use up all those
hard-boiled eggs left over
from Easter, the 25th of the
month will be reserved for
feeding value have your soybeans roasted,
or Sale in small lots or trailer loads.

HARRISBURG ~ The
growing crisis in product
liability insurance will be the
key topic discussed when 70
members of the Penn
sylvania General Assembly
meet Tuesday morning,
February 7, with business
people from all over that
state at a State Chamber
sponsored legislative
breakfast in the Penn Harris
Motor Inn, Camp Hill.
Representatives from
various industries and
businesses will present five
minute, capsuhzed stones on
how the product liability
insurance dilemma is
seriously affecting their
ability to operate profitably.
They will speak m support
of Senate Bill 585, Chamber
endorsed legislation
designed to brmg much
needed-and long overdue
reform to the product
liability problem.
Registrations, at $lO per
person, are being handled by
Donald R. Gillis, executive
vice president of the State
Chamber, at 222 North Third
Street, Harrisburg, Penn
sylvania 17101.

BRATTLEBORO, VT. -
William Dawson has ac
cepted the position of
program director of the
Holstein-Friesian Associat
ion of America. His field
territory includes Delaware,
Maryland, North Carolina,
Virginia, and West Virginia.
Dawson is responsible for
coordinating Holstein
programs and services in
this area as well as con
ducting personalized, on-the
farm assistance to breeders.
Dawson, a native of West
Virginia, graduated with a
bachelor of science degree in
agricultural education in
1971 from West Virginia
University. He was raised on
a dairy farm in West
Virginia, participated in 4-H
and FFA dairy judging and
showed dairy cattle on the
state and national levels.
