bulky and slow, it freed
farmers from dependence on
animal power. Then in 1892,
J.I. Case built the first gas
powered farm tractor. Back
then they were called
gasoline traction engines.

tricycle-type tractor in 1924
that provided the mobility

everything around the farm,
thus the trade name Farmall

today was complete.

ception farm power has
made little progress in the
four decades since then. It’s
