Award in 1964, served for 15

Corps (YCC) program are

school guidance counselors,
Bureau of Employment
Security Offices, Bureau of
State Parks Offices, Bureau
of Forestry Offices and
YMCA’s.
The Summer work
program is open to any youth
who will be 15 years old by
June 1,1978 but wll not be 19
years old before August 31,
1978.
Youth Conservation Corps
work sites are located
throughout the Com
monwealth on federal lands
administered by the D.S.
Department of Agriculture
and U.S. Department of the
Interior and on State lands
administered by the Penn
sylvania Department of
Environmental Resources.
Work projects are
structured to provide Corps
members with a better
understanding of their en
vironment while earning a
minimum wage. Typical
projects include stream
improvements, construction
of bridges and other
recreational facilities,

residential programs where

work in a camp setting away
from home and non
residential programs where
participants live at home
and commute daily to their
work site. Residential
participants earn $65.50 per
week plus room and board
while non-residential par
ticipants earn $79.50 per
week.
Because more ap
plications are received than
there are jobs available,
participants are chosen by a
random selection process.
Selected applicants will be
notified by May 1.
Completed applications
must be received at the YCC
Selection Office, P.O. Box

by March 15, 1978. In
complete applications
cannot be considered.
