Cumberland County garnered five of 13 best-of show honors for capons, Association field day to be held at Stonylonesome Farm, Inc., Stahlstown Rl. The date for that field day is July 22. The Angus breeders also discussed the Secretary of Agriculture’s proposal to make the. Farm Show into show of champions. The general opinion of the members present was to op pose this move. Kutztown Area FFA earned both the champion Corn champs picked HARRISBURG - Dennis Watson, of Ulysses, Potter County, captured the cham pionship in 10-ear open pollinated dent classes at the 62nd Farm Show. Winner in the 10-ear open pollinated flint or indian division was Zane Helsel, East Freedon Rl, Blair County; and the 10-ear white popcorn division by Robert Buser, Yorkßl2. Gwen Hower, Northamp ton R 2, won the champion ship in 10-ear yellow popcorn classes; and Roy B. Mull, Lititz, Lancaster County, Junior breed champs named HARRISBURG - David McElhany of Hookstown, swept the grand and reserve grand championships in Shorthorn junior beef breeding classes at the 62nd Farm Show. The McElhaney champion was “MSF Dut chess” and the reserve champion was “R H Elms Gloster.” In junior Hereford com petition, “RGL Venus Anx Girl,” shown by Marci Lynn Boron of Venus, won the grand championship. In the turkey division, Konhaus Farms, Mechanicsburg, took the champion carcass, the reserve champion carcass, reserve champion turkey, best live turkey display, and best dressed turkey display. In 4-H competition, Gary Lee Growl, Airville R 2, York County captured the cham pionship in hybrid dent District I classes. Winner in District 4-H competition was Greg Connor, of Mill Hall Rl, Clinton County.
