Lancaster Co, 4-H horse clubs honor members
Honored for their placings in the county state horse show team class were Lori
and Donna Sammons, Neffsville, and Sandy Hamilton, Lampeter.

LANCASTER - Members
of the Lancaster County 4-H
horse clubs were recognized
for their achievements at the
Recognition Banquet held
December 3 at the Lancaster
Farm and Home Center. The
banquet style dinner and
program was held to honor
those 4-H’ers who had made
special achievements
throughout the 1977 4-H
season.
Plaque awards were given
to the youths who placed in
the Pa. State 4-H Horse
Show, held at the Farm Show
Arena in November. Win
ners included: Sue Baker,
Lancaster; Doug Fellan
baum, Lititz R 3; Robin
Tshudy, Manheim; Pam
Sammons, Neffsville; Rick
Buckwalter, Denver Rl;
George Metzler, East
Petersburg; Lori and Donna
Sammons, .both of Neff-
sivlle; and Sandy Hamilton,
Lampeter.
Also honored for then
efforts were the horse
judging team, Martha
Gregory, Sandy Hamilton,
George Metzler, and Kathy
Shaffer; and the horse bowl
team, Brian and Daphne
Immel, Lashon Bussell, and
Jenny Weber. Coaches for
the teams included Dr. Earl
Weber, Robert Gregory, and
Carol Henkel.
The 4-H horse clubs in
Lancaster County are
supported by 22 club leaders
and 4-H club advisor, Jay W.
Irwin, county agent.
Toastmaster for the
evening was Bud
Gochenauer, Lititz R 3. Over
200 people attended the
dinner which was followed
by a fellowship hour and
record hop.
