and understanding of
America’s economic system
were emphasized throughout
the Congress program.
The Congress closed
Thursday evening with the
naming of six presidential
award winners, a banquet,
and a farewell party.
Individual resumes of the
seven Pennsylvania national
winners follow:

program sponsor.
A high school senior, Craig

tradition by being selected to
make the trip to Chicago. His
older sister was the first 4-H
member from Montgomery
County ever to attend

have included handling a
group of 35 younger 4-H
members as a camp coun

state competition. . -
Since the automotive
program has no countywide
club or project leader in
Gary Welsh
York County, he has carried
the program independently
and taught himself whatever
he has learned.
Last year he started a
countywide automotive club
and this year he trained
members for the county
Autorama contest. He
stresses safety in all of his
instruction to younger
members.
Patty LeVan
Welsh graduated from
high school last June. He
plans to operate his own
automotive repair shop.
Patricia LeVan
Patricia LeVan has been
named one of six national
winners in the 4-H dairy
program.
The daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Clifford A. LeVan, she
received a $lOOO scholarship
from Insurance Company of
North America, sponsor of
the 4-H dairy program.
The Montour County youth

competition, she went from
county winner to regional to
state, and in 1976, won the
national title.
