Co. 4-H team named 4th HARRISBURG - The Lancaster County 4-H team placed fourth in the junior livestock judging contest held at the Keystone In ternational Livestock Ex position. Ohio’s 4-H team won the junior contest, with a team from Virginia placing second, and one PH: 717-299-2571 Maryland placing from third. Samuel Long, Peach Bottom R 2, was the third placing high individual in the competition and the highest placing individual in the beef cattle division of the judging. Judy Zimmerman, Ephrata Rl, was named 11th high individual in the contest and Deb Carmean, East Petersburg placed 20th. Lancaster County finished second in the beef cattle competition, fifth in the swine, and sixth in the sheep division. Ten junior judging teams competed in the contest. Coach for the Lancaster County team is County Agent M. Max Smith; assistant is Gary Dean, Strasburg Rl. In the intercollegiate competition, Purdue University won top honors, with Ohio State University placing second. Penn State’s team placed fourth in the contest. 57
