He made the announcement in his report to the PFA voting delegates, attending a four day convention here at the Penn Hams Motor Inn. Thompson, an Indiana County dairyman, said the previous record was 20,313 family members. “Farmers are joining PFA because they know that they must act as a group if they expect to be effective in government work,” he said. Thompson reported to the delegates that legislative activities in the Penn sylvania General Assembly have been devoted to budgetary efforts. PFA’s legislative efforts, according to Thompson, have been directed to three major areas; (1) working for fiscal responsibility through the leadership of both political parties; (2) assuring fair and adequate financing for all phases of state government, especially agricultural endeavors; and (3) reforming the budgetary suj PutcAman. trends.
