HARRISBURG - As of November 1, Pennsylvania’s 1977 grain com crop is still expected to produce 101.2 million bushels, according to the Pennsylvania Crop Reporting Service. This is unchanged from earlier forecasts but two per cent below last year due to an expected yield of 88 bushels or two bushels below 1976. Tobacco prospects are also unchanged with 23.5 million pounds expected this year. This would be less than one-half of one per cent below a year ago as a 500 acre reduction for harvest slightly more than offset an' expected yield at 1,810 pounds or 60 above 1976. Potato production is forecast at 6.8 million hundredweight or six per cent below last year. Acres harvested or expected to be harvested is down 1000 to 27,000 while yield at 250 hundredweight is down five cwt. Some potatoes har vested from wet fields will not hold up well in storage and thus callage in the coming months may be abnormally high.
