Earl Newcomer, president of the Lancaster County Farmers Association,
proudly displays a letter a letter of commendation from Governor Milton Shapp.
The congratulatory message was delivered by Secretary of Agriculture Kent
Shelhamer, who stopped in at Park City on Monday to see the promotional ef

farmer from Stevens and member of the Association; and regional Pennsylvania
Farmers Association directors Jim Kreider and Helen Wivell. Both are Lancaster
Countians. Mrs. Wivell chaired the women’s committee which was responsible
for putting on the program.
