LANCASTER - Final plans
are being made for the
fourth annual Lancaster
County CROP Walk for the
Hungry, scheduled for this
Sunday, October 16,
beginning at the An
nunciation Church, Lan
caster. Father Alexander
Veronis, chairman of the
walk, expressed confidence
that the $45,000 goal for this
year’s walk will be met by
the efforts of an anticipated
1500 walkers and as many as
10 to 20,000 sponsors. Money
collected will be sent to
CROP (and other designated
national relief agencies) to
help provide food, seed, and
technology to combat world
hunger. Twenty-five per cent
of the money raised on
Sunday will remain in
Lancaster County to help
hungry people.
Sunday’s walk will be held
rain or shine beginning and
ending at Annunciation
Church, 64 Hershey Avenue.
Walkers may start from the
church anytime between
11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
