Recently we had the opportunity to purchase 50 head
of stnckly fresh & springing cows our pick from the
herd of Allen Taylor. The balance will sell the spring of
1978 following the farm sale. This is a top group of
cows, straight from Lycoming County, with many
calving soon, carrying their 2nd & 3rd calves. It will be
a long time before we have another herd of cows
showing so much dairy type & excellent udders as
these.
We especially are fond of the upstate cows because of
their hardiness and ability to milk. We know you will
like them.
We will also sell 1 load of top Registered & Grade
cows from Va. & Md. 15 from 1 exceptional herd.
It has been our pleasure to serve you from our new
sale barn. We have never forgotten how our friends and
neighbors helped us in our barn raising.

Order 2 referendum effective Nov. 1
NEW YORK, N Y -
Resounding approval of the
New York-New Jersey
marketing order Was ex
pressed by producers in a
referendum which ended
September 11, 1977. Thomas
A. Wilson, market ad
ministrator, stated that over
90 percent of those producers
casting ballots voted yes on
the amended order.
Wilson said there has been
some confusion in the
milkshed as to whether the
referendum had passed,
owing m part to a lawsuit
filed by Pennmarva
Dairymen’s Federation, Inc.
(Pennmarva). He wanted to
assure dairymen that the
referendum was approved
and that the effective date
for the amended marketing
order is November 1,1977.

Secretary of Agriculture Bob
Bergland estimates that 1977
unports of meat subject to
the Meat Import Law will be
below the level requiring
quota imposition. This fourth
quarterly estimate is the
same as that made on Dec.
22, 1976, April 15, 1977, and
July 7,1977.
Public Lav/ 88-484, enacted
in August 1964, provides that
if yearly imports of certain
meats - primarily frozen
beef - are estimated to equal
or exceed 110 per cent of an
adjusted base quantity,
