102 —Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 15,1977 Fair results posted at UNIONVILLE - Five days of fur, fpolicing, and com petition came to a close here last Saturday when the Unionville Fair closed its gates for another year. Activities during the celebrated Chester County event included a square dance, a Harvest Queen pageant, a bicycle rodeo, a horse and pony show, safe tractor driving contest, football game, horseshoe pitching contest, soccer game, chicken barbecue, and numerous judging events. The results of some of these activites are as follows: 4-H BEEF SHOW Dawn Gidner’s Angus came out on top at the 4-H beef competition at the 53rd annual Unionville Fair. Reserve champion of the show was Barb Sickler’s crossbred. Dawn was named senior showman and Barb was selected as the senior fitter. Gary Walker took second place in both senior fitter and showman competitions. Junior showmen were Jeff Walker, first, and Eileen. Fairbairn, second. First year showman winners were Lynda Coleman, first, and Jim Anderson, second. George Dreisbach won the ault tractor driving contest at the Uniontown Fair.
