—Lancaster Farming, Saturda: 56 Brown shows champion at Danville swine show DANVILLE - Kevin Brown, Klingerstown, showing a cross bred Duroc- Poland-China barrow weighing 230 pounds won grand champion at the Regional 4-H Swme Show at Danville Cattle Company Kevin Brown, Klingerstown, showed the grand champion market hog at the regional 4-H swine show for Montour, Snyder, Northumberland, and Union Counties. The 230 pound barrow, which sold for $1.85 per pound, was a Duroc Poland China cross. October 1.1977 sales barn recently. The barrow was purchased by Danville Cattle Company for Hatfield Packing Company, Hatfield, Pa., at $1.85 per Pound liveweight according to Leonard G. Yeanck, Northumberland county agent. James Maneval of Snyder County showed the reserve junior champion, a 210 pound market hog purchased by the Country Store at Penn dale, Pa. Warren Wor thington of the Country Store purchased nine head in all. Additional buyers sup porting the sale were Keisters Middleburg Auc tion, Shamokin Packing Company, „ Meckleys Limestone -Products, Brosious Store, Dalmatia; and M. C. Henmnger & Sons, Berrysburg. Hatfield Packing purchased 10 head in all. Danville Cattle Company purchased three head. Kim Smith, Milton R 2, won the junior showmanship award m competition with 20 other exhibitors.
