RICHMOND, Va. - At an
Eastern Regional 4-H
livestock judging contest
held here on Sept. 24, the
Pennsylvania team was
third overall with 1413
points. Only Virginia and
Kentucky edged ahead of the
Keystone 4-H’ers, with
scores of 1521 and 1506,
respectively.

Peach Bottom, Sarah
Brubaker of Lancaster,
Debbie Carmean, East
Petersburg, and Judy Long,
Ephrata. They had won the
state title in early August
during State 4-H Days at

judges did their best in the
beef judging contest with 575
points. The Virginia team
edged them by three points.

Sarah Brubaker was fifth.
The dividing lines became
even thinner in the hog
judging competition when
Maryland edged Penn
sylvania and North Carolina
by a single point. That tied
the latter two for fourth
place on the basis of points
earned as a team.
